Emergency Care
Broken tooth? Woken up in the middle of the night from tooth pain? Even with the best dental care, occasionally an emergency situation can crop up leaving you scrambling to find solutions. At Camden Dental Centre, if you are in pain, we offer our patients the opportunity to come in and see a dentist on the day we are contacted. We want to get you out of trouble as soon as we possibly can, we don’t want you suffering for any longer than you have to!
What if you have knocked a tooth out?
- Contact us immediately – the quicker treatment is received, the better the chance is of saving the tooth.
- If possible, place the tooth back into the socket (where it came) try not to handle the tooth root (the section of the tooth that is not usually visible when it’s in place) to protect the fibres around the root surface. If you are unable to do this please DO place the tooth in cold milk or on one side of your mouth between your teeth and cheeks.
- DO NOT place the tooth in water.
What should you do if you have fractured a tooth?
Don’t panic! Fractured teeth can usually be fixed.
Please contact us to book an appointment as soon as possible.
Some fractures involve the nerve and prompt treatment can prevent pain and more involved treatments. If you are experiencing pain, painkillers such as Ibuprofen or Paracetamol can help. Avoid hot or cold food and drinks and eating or biting around the tooth.
For your convenience, we are open regular working hours as well as some evenings and Saturdays for appointments.
Our business hours:
Monday 8:30am-5:30pm
Tuesday-Wednesday 8:30am-7pm
Thursday 8:30am-5:30pm
Friday 8:30am-5pm
Saturday 8am-1pm
What if we’re not open?
If you are unable to see your dentist straight away, your local hospital or GP is your best alternative to get you comfortable. It is then important to follow up with your dentist to review and/or treat the problem.
